Our Philosophy

We believe in providing children (infants through school-age children) with the tools to develop their natural interests and activities rather than rigid teaching methods. Our children grow in their own space through environmental interactions and choice of activity within a prescribed range of options. For instance, the toddlers and preschoolers’ area is closely located, and they can learn from one another during recess time. There are learning activities such as shapes, colors, letters, numbers, and more posted on the walls, so toddlers and preschoolers can learn through visual and auditory methods.

• Preschoolers learn through freedom within limits and our school-readiness program, which emphasizes reading. They also learn by being near the school-age children, which helps them with their social skills.

• School-age children enjoy help with their homework, cooking classes, outdoor play, creative activities, and “free to be me” time.

• The environment at Beyond Childcare is also set up to expose infants to language through nursery rhymes, storytelling, poetry, and music. For instance, infants are told stories during tummy time or listen to preschool-age learning CDs and videos. It provides infants with an abundance of mental stimulation that helps develop neural connections in the brain. These activities make it easier for infants to learn language as they grow.

The History

The History

I have been a licensed in-home child daycare provider for 30 years.

Why did I open my business?

The birth of my first child sparked my passion for childcare. As I researched childcare services in the market, I was unsatisfied with the quality of the options I could afford. I thought to myself, “I would not leave my cat in this daycare, let alone my child.” From that point on, I decided to become a family daycare provider. I knew I could provide quality daycare service for families in my community, and it also allowed me to take care of my children. Childcare has been fulfilling work for the last 30 years for me.

What is special about my program?

At Beyond Childcare, we have a dedicated spacious facility that allows infants through school-age children to have unique environments to learn at their developmental levels while simultaneously learning from one another regardless of age. We also have a spacious outdoor area with garden beds that provide grapes, strawberries, raspberries, kale, chard, and more for our children. There is a significant focus on nutrition, and our meals include fresh fruits instead of sugar-filled juices. There are no artificial colors or chemicals in our meals, and we even offer vegetarian and vegan meals upon request. We emphasize quality over quantity while maintaining affordability. Children are encouraged to explore their creativity and build social skills in a caring environment. Our family daycare setting provides more one-on-one opportunities for children.
